Not all records not imported

Postby RodneyA » Thu Nov 26, 2009 7:10 am

Hello

I imported 245 contacts and Majestic reported:
Rows imported: 125
Rows updated: 120
Rows skipped: 0

1.) These were all new contacts - please explain the difference between "imported" and "updated"

2.) Despite already having records in the database and importing an additional 245, I noticed the total database base records was below 200. I discovered approximately 80 did not actually import.

I exported the imported records and did a match to identify the records not imported. Other than a couple of records with duplicate email adrreses that did not import (I selected "check duplicate email address" so I understand why they did not import), I could not see any reason why these reocrds were skipped.

As a test, I have subsequently re-imported 6 of the skipped records and they all imported this time. I used I.E. the second time, may have used Google Chrome for the initial import. Could this be the reason?

Many thanks for your assistance

Not all records not imported

Hi, I checked this query with our developer and this is what he came back to me with:

I think the problem is the fact that he was checking for duplicates on email address and cell number in the first import. If you look at the import report the record with majestic id number 134770 was inserted on row 28 (the first entry with the cell number of 0) and then updated for all the following records that also had a cell number of 0. I would recommend that the cell numbers that contain 0 are removed and the import is run from scratch again.

Ensure that there is a blank space where you dont have a cell number or email address instead of a 0
